lyrics

Spewed forth from the light, swallowed by the dust
We see it happening to others but not to us
That’s what we think but it ain’t true even tho we know that too
It’s not a mystery cause history’s our biggest clue

But time isn’t our friend it somehow makes us forget
That once the curtain closes show is over that was it
Just a memory now, but even that has faded
Soon enough you’ll be a random name up in the graveyard

What a life you must have lived
The world was for the taking you were just a kid
Then you grew up and got older trying to make some sense
But confusions every option so take your pick

Most will ignore the loud knock at the door
Opportunity was calling but they chose to ignore
Now the body’s in decline and all the fun is gone
You hear a different type of knock you cannot shrug it off

We’re going to live forever, or so it seems
But as the years start stacking up you cannot make believe
The veil of life begins to open clearly you can see
We’re on a one-way path to nothing the abyss is deep

Dark and dismal it’s forever sort of like your sleep
Except the blackness never breaks you are not in a dream
You are not anywhere in fact you are not anything
You had your moment now it’s over just obscurity

You hear my words but trust you are not comprehending me
It sounds poetic but the mind is just not listening
You must ignore it or accept your life is dwindling
And you might fall into a pit of hopeless misery

But can you can find the silver lining
Even when it’s cloudy out the sun’s still always shining
Most of us are wasting time on petty drama whining
And only choose to live the moment that we know we’re dying
