lyrics

It was a bright cold crisp, winter afternoon
When two boys, best friends, decided after school
That they would hit the local lake and have a competition
To see which one could skate the fastest from the start to finish

It was a typical day
Goofing off and making jokes in a satirical way
Throwing caution to the wind, all they want to do is skate
But what else would you expect from two boys in the 6th grade?

They laced up their ice skates
The sun was out now and it made for a nice day
They counted down from three, skatin’ off at their fullest speed
And didn’t have an inkling of the shifting ice below their feet

They were neck and neck for the lead
Unaware of the impending danger they couldn’t see
As one of the boys got in front the other moved behind
Noticing his friend losing his footing falling thru the ice!

Terrified as his best friend was sinkin’
He desperately stretched out his arm but couldn’t reach him
He looked around for help, but help was non-existent
So he hustled towards a tree that he had seen off in the distance

Without a moment’s notice, nor a passing glance
He climbed the tree and using all his strength tore off a massive branch
Watching his buddy drowning, struggling to hold it in
He savagely beat and broke the ice and then pulled up his friend

The paramedics on the scene
Were able to revive the boy miraculously
But they were baffled, how could such a puny kid
Tear off this enormous branch, then break the ice to save his friend?

A man who was there said he knew
So they asked him how he did it cause they didn’t have a clue
Then the old man said, “The simple truth is…
No one was here to tell him that he couldn’t do it.”

IT’S POSSIBLE
Stand guard against the naysayers
IT’S POSSIBLE
Beware of the excuse makers
IT’S POSSIBLE
Never take advice from a quitter
IT’S POSSIBLE
Do you wanna be the victim or victor?
